Abstract
Atractylodes Rhizoma is a commonly used traditional Chinese medicine with a long history of application in treating gastrointestinal disorders and other diseases. In China, Atractylodes Rhizoma is processed differently to treat different diseases. Currently, no summary report indicates the component changes and pharmacological effects of Atractylodes Rhizoma induced by different processing methods. This article systematically summarizes the different processing methods commonly utilized in Atractylodes Rhizoma, including raw Atractylodes Rhizoma (SCZ), bran-fried Atractylodes Rhizoma (FCZ), deep-fried Atractylodes Rhizoma (JCZ), and rice water processing of Atractylodes Rhizoma (MCZ). The changes in the chemical composition and pharmacological effects of Atractylodes Rhizoma have also been discussed, and the action mechanisms of the primary components across different processed products of Atractylodes Rhizoma on gastrointestinal diseases are summarized.
